THE YOUTH COALITION (YOCO)

It is critically important that research for a community includes that community. In 2023 a vision that I had for many years came to fruition with the creation of the Youth Coalition (YoCo). YoCo is housed within the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. YoCo is comprised of youth between the ages of 13-18 who are passionate about youth mental and behavioral health, research, advocacy, and community action. YoCo member serve 1-year terms, with the option for renewal, to lead efforts within academia and the community to lead work in innovative practices to promote and advance efforts aimed at improving youth mental and behavioral health.
